in january of 2007, my mom sat my sister and i down and told us that she was leaving my dad. she took off all of her wedding rings, gave them to us and said that their marriage was over. since then, they’ve been battling over assets and retirement plans. today, they went into mediation and now things are finally, finally over. as much as i’d love to see them work it out and be happy with each other, just knowing we can all finally move on is good enough. hallelujah! free at last!
